The following elements are what you can expect if you are employed on the St Giles Trust staff team
All staff are given a competitive salary in line with benchmarked ranges, with an opportunity for annual progression.
All staff are entitled to join the St Giles Trust Pension Plan and we will match contributions for up to 6% of salary. All staff are automatically enrolled into this pension scheme at a contribution rate of 1%, unless they chose to opt-out or increase their contributions.
We choose to give a generous leave allowance to all staff to encourage them to take restful periods away from the office. All staff are entitled to 30 days annual leave, plus the 8 Bank Holidays. This is pro-rata for part time staff.
Flexible working and family friendly policies
Flexible working is considered for all staff after 6 months service, and many of our staff work flexible patterns to support their childcare, elderly caring responsibilities or other things going on in their lives. Support for maternity and adoption leave and pay is above the statutory minimum.
All paid staff are entitled to take part in this scheme, which allows them to purchase tax-free Childcare Vouchers which can be used for any registered childcare provider, including school breakfast clubs and after-school clubs. Vouchers are purchased with gross pay, so a saving is made because tax isn’t paid on those vouchers.
Cycle to Work bike purchase scheme
All staff on contracts of 1 year or more are eligible to apply for this scheme, under which they can purchase a bike (and cycling equipment) under a hire purchase arrangement. Repayments come out of gross pay so a saving is made as tax isn’t paid on those repayments. This scheme is offered to assist with commuting costs, as well as being in line with our green policies and our health and wellbeing policy.
“Rewards Unlocked” – our staff discount scheme
Rewards Unlocked is St Giles Trust’s bespoke discount portal. All staff and volunteers are eligible for this benefit, which gives them access to thousands of high street and online discounts. This scheme is offered to assist with the increasing cost of living.
Advice & Counselling Service - employee assistance programme (EAP)
All staff have access to an independent, professional support service to staff. It provides 24-hour free access to professional counsellors, as well as legal and consumer advice and support. This service aims to provide a place where front line staff can unload from the sometimes stressful nature of their role. All staff, volunteers and your friends and family are entitled to use this service.
Season Ticket Loan
All staff on contracts of 1 year or more are entitled to apply for an interest free loan to pay for their annual season tickets (for the train not for the football!). The loans are paid back out of monthly net pay over a period of 10 months.
Professional Skills Mentoring Programme
All staff including volunteers have the opportunity to be mentored by successful professional from one of our corporate partners or another organisation external to St Giles Trust. The mentoring is there to support career and personal development during your career with us.
Training & Development
We are committed to the continuous development of all our staff and run a central programme of training programmes to keep staff up to date with relevant professional and sector-specific courses and workshops. Each member of staff has a personal development plan (PDP) to focus your development during your career with us.
